TEAM CENTRAL
The boosters will communicate throughout the season via email from the email address ce.baseballboosters@gmail.com.
If you would like to be removed from the ce.baseballboosters@gmail.com email distribution, or if you have additional email addresses to add, please let us know.
Coach Communication
The coaches communicate with the players by email and text, depending on the context. Most communication from Coach Dutton and his staff to the boys will not include parents, so players will need to keep you in the loop about game and practice time changes, etc.
Season Start Dates
Practices for the season typically start in the high school gym at the end of March. For 2026 the start of the season schedule is as follows:
Friday February 27th: There will be an informational/ player sign up meeting at 2:45 in the CEHS Cafe. This is a mandatory meeting for all students interested in playing high school baseball this season. At this meeting I will go over important information as well as the coaching staff expectation for players for the upcoming season. If you know someone (whos not already on this email chain, and wants to play baseball this year please let them know about this meeting).
***In years past there has also been a sign-up sheet where players can provide their contact information and Coach Dutton will collect practice gear sizes.
Monday March 23rd: Pitcher/Catcher or Arm Care Week. ALL players are required to attend this week of practice. Over this week players will primarily focus on Arm care and throwing as well as conditioning. I feel it is important to have ALL players in this week so we can take advantage of getting into baseball shape.
Monday March 30th:This week is named “Tryout week” over the week we will focus on ALL baseball skills giving players the opportunity to tryout for the baseball teams. All players will know what team they made by Friday 3rd. I will meet with EVERY player individually and discuss why players are on a specific team and what our development plan and season role is for each player.
Wednesday April 1st: We will have a MANDATORY meeting at 6pm in the CEHS cafe. It is required for each player and at least one Parent/ Guardian in attendance for this meeting. At this meeting we will discuss a number of topics, We will go over season expectations for all levels, as well as coaching philosophy and code of conduct policy.
Little League Help Dates
Every winter, the high school baseball players help coach younger Cape Elizabeth players in a series of winter clinics run by Coach Donny Dutton and his staff. Many of our players were on the other side of this event when they were younger. Both sides benefit; it is a fundraiser and an opportunity for leadership for our high school boys, and a memorable moment of mentorship for the younger kids.
A sign up form was sent to all player email addresses on 2/8/2026 and is also available below so they can assist Coach Dutton with both:
Little League Evaluations 2/28
and later we will provide a sign up form for Little League:
Winter Clinics 3/9, 3/16, 3/17, 3/23, 3/24, 3/30, 3/31 - 6-8:30 PM - sign up sheet will be accessible closer to the date
